Her Life
Teola Blake, daughter of Jacqueline Blake and the late William Matthews, was born on June 25, 1979. She departed this life on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones. She grew up in the town of Queen Anne, in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and graduated from Largo High School with the class of 1997.
Teola spent her life caring for other people. As a Certified Nursing Assistant and Medication Technician she served and cared for over 10,000 patients in the memory care unit, and she was loved for her compassion and her sensitivity to all those around her.
Beyond her work, Teola was known for her big heart, her wonderful spirit, and her love for her family. She found great joy in having family gatherings and hanging out with her cousins, nieces, and nephews. You could easily find Teola at the Capitol Raceway track, at car shows in Ocean City, and watching her favorite football team, the Washington Commanders. She had a very special bond in her heart with each and every one of her children, and the relationship between her and her mother was sacred and everlasting.
Teola leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, Jacqueline Blake; her long-time companion, Wayne Butler Sr.; her children, Darius Blake, Jasmine Blake, Demetrius Blake, and Dwayne Butler; her siblings, Andre Blake, (Ciara) Arthur James (Ashley); and a host of devoted nieces and nephews, family, and friends. Teola Blake touched many hearts and will be missed more than words can express.
